There was a window at the end of the hallway, painting the walls with stripes of white moonlight.
At first it had been painful: having freedom so close, and yet so far. Each night as the moon grew fatter it tugged at her bones with intensified vigour. Freedom, it crooned. Escape!
But now
Now she heard nothing at all.
Korra lay against the far wall of the cell. Her legs were splayed at a comfortable angle, chin to chest, her arms tied tightly behind her back. The rope was thick and strong, as she'd quickly discovered.
It was also annoyingly scratchy.
She was a state: her hair, barely bound, was a tangled mat of blood and grime. A s

30 Days of Makorra - Day 8 - Umbrella
The rain came on sudden. Mako had been walking home when the sky opened up with a loud crack of thunder and a flash of lightning. Running under an awning, he wrapped his arms around his chest and gazed up at the dark sky. It was nighttime, late, and he sighed with the realization that he was still some distance away from home. He had a long, cold, wet walk ahead of him, and he was not looking forward to it.
"Doesn't look like it's going to get better anytime soon," he mumbled to himself. "I guess I better get going." Pushing off the wall of the building, he stepped out into the downpour with no small amount of dread. He wished, not for the f

Summary: Korra spends the night and wants to make Mako breakfast.
She wasn't usually a morning person, but after sleeping most of the day and the majority of the night she was wide awake. The feeling of rest was welcomed, especially now that she was curled up against Mako. His body was warm against hers and he held her tightly against him, she never took the stony fire bender as someone who cuddled.
Korra looked up at him
"See this? It's fire. You might be able to bend it," tiny hands reached to touch the flame and Mako quickly pulled his left hand back. "Don't touch sweetheart. It'll hurt. But see, it's like a heartbeat. Just like yours," he took her little hand gently in his right and placed it over her heart. "Mommy says you might be a waterbender though. From what she tells me that's all push," he extinguished the fire in his left hand and took her other hand in his and softly pushed her arms back, "and pull," he pulled her into his arms. "Or maybe you're an
"Where is my mom's necklace?" Korra said following Mako into the kitchen.
"I don't know what your talking about Korra, i didn't touch your stupid necklace," He said try to find some way to have her keep following him, even though he didn't say, he liked having her following him.
"IT'S NOT STUPID!" She said shoving him, almost knocking him over.
The truth was, he did have it, it was in his pocket, but he wanted her to be around him, she had this spark in her that just made him feel so happy when she was around,
It was a feeling he never felt.
"Hey, quit pushing me and go ask Bolin, he probably has it," He said slightly annoyed with the pu

Chapter 4: Complications in Simplicity
"Hey bro, how much money do we have to spare this month?" Bolin asked.
"Not much," Mako said as he made dinner for the two of them, "How much do you need, and what's it for?"
"I need forty bucks for homecoming tickets. I'm gonna ask Korra."
Mako stopped stirring the noodles. He didn't understand why, but he felt a slight pang in his chest. "You're gonna ask Korra to homecoming?"
"Yeah. Tickets go on sale next week, so I'll need the money soon."
Mako went back to stirring the noodles. "Sorry Bo, but we don't exactly have forty bucks to spare."
"Oh . Ok then, I'll just put in
The first time Mako kissed her in public she thought it was kind of cute. They'd been dating for only a few weeks and really couldn't stop kissing each other so kissing her before she boarded the ferry to Air Temple Island seemed natural. They even blew kisses to each other as the ferry left.
The second time was at Republic City's annual Founder's Day ball. He'd done it twice then: he kissed her forehead and her lips. She wasn't entirely sure she wanted everyone important to see her kissing her boyfriend. Jinora and Ikki singing about how in love the two of them were didn't help the situation.

She stood in the changing room completely dressed.
Her hair was down in loose curls that cascaded down her back and her bangs were pinned back. Her dress, a deep red color, was completely out of her element. It was held back by two straps that tied at the back of her neck, but sunk low in the neckline and left her back mostly exposed, it stopped at her knees and left her smooth legs just as bare. Being from the South Po
